[Well. It's better late than never, isn't it?

It'd been a few days now since Yukari's birthday had passed on the nineteenth, and thanks to the kraken, she'd had to delay her plans

Selphie in the Water! Everyone Come Splash!

*Selphie was like a - a duck to water. And she oddly resembled one too. With all the flapping she was doing, and that yellow bikini, she did look a bit special. But she was clearly having a lot of fun, chasing the waves and jumping around.

Don't worry, Yukari! She hasn't forgotten it's your birthday. There's a big batch of reasonably edible chocolate cookies and a handmade birthday card waiting for her on the beach that says:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YUKARI!~

I totally don't know you, but I hope your birthday is awesome!

*At first Selphie gives her a smile and a kind of sowhat'stheproblem look, and she's about to declare that it doesn't matter what Minato thinks, in that cheeky way of hers.

But then she nods and smiles*

Uh huh!

[But of course it matters what he thinks... D:]

I had no idea.

He's...actually one of my best friends...

*Selphie smiled brightly and splashed her legs a little*

You know him from home?

He's... one of the only friends I have left here...

[She nods; even through her smile, though she can tell in the way Selphie speaks that she is lonely.]

It...sounds like a lot of your friends have left lately, huh...

[...Yukari frowns somewhat, knowing what Vatheon can be like in that regard.]

But don't worry. If you're friends with him, then I'm sure we can be friends, too.

*Selphie bows her head some more to stare more carefully at the crab*

Pretty much... a lot...

*Her voice was small, but she wouldn't let someone she didn't know see how upset she really was. But when she looked back up at Yukari, there was a bright smile on her face*

That's great!

Yeah!

[Well, she hopes so at any rate. She's been working on opening up and befriending more people.]

And maybe you can meet new friends here, too, since I tried to invite everybody...

I'm...glad you came.

I'd really like that. It'd be nice... to have more friends.

*She looks down at the crab in Yukari's hand before kicking at the water again, looking back at shore*

I'm sure you will.

[Have more friends, that is. She seems like a sociable enough girl. She shouldn't have any problems with it!]

Even Mr. Crabby thinks so. See?

[And she shows the crab, running across her hand, kind of panicked. She should probably let him go soon, hah.]

*Selphie thinks so too and giggles at the crab's frantic movements*

Aww, don't worry, Mr Crabby. We'll let you get back to your wife in a minute!~

[She laughs, because Selphie's giggling is contagious--and coninues to watch the crab as well.]

I guess I better do that soon.

[There is silence for a while, as they both seem fascinated by him--

And finally she lowers her hand, letting him back into the water.]

*Selphie bends down to watch the crab scuttle away beneath the waves and she looks to Yukari with a smile*

He has a nice home to go to, I bet.

Probably.

[...Well, she doesn't really know, but it's nice to stay positive. So she nods...suddenly glad she decided not to take it home.

(Even if the idea was mostly a joke.)]

...How about you, Selphie? What kind of home do you come from?

[It must be nice...]

*Nice to stay positive doesn't even cut it as far as Selphie's philosophy is concerned - always positive always more like it*

Hmm... I kinda don't really have a home. I guess Garden is my home now... But then, really, Vatheon is home.

*She giggled and a little and shook her head*

I mean, I don't have a fixed house, or a place to belong. My home is just wherever I am with my friends.

[...Ah. That's an interesting answer. And Yukari chuckles a bit at how romantic and dream-like it sounds.]

Well...you couldn't ask for a better one, if you ask me.

...I guess Vatheon's my home now, too.

[And though it is way too chaotic at times, she's more than happy to have her friends here. They're the ones that make the stay worth it.]

*Selphie smiled at Yukari before turning to gaze out across the sea. She's silent for a while, thoughtful, before turning back to her*

But I guess, from what I've heard, you have a lot of your home friends here, right?
