It'd been a few days now since Yukari's birthday had passed on the nineteenth, and thanks to the kraken, she'd had to delay her plans

Selphie in the Water! Everyone Come Splash!

*Selphie was like a - a duck to water. And she oddly resembled one too. With all the flapping she was doing, and that yellow bikini, she did look a bit special. But she was clearly having a lot of fun, chasing the waves and jumping around.

Don't worry, Yukari! She hasn't forgotten it's your birthday. There's a big batch of reasonably edible chocolate cookies and a handmade birthday card waiting for her on the beach that says:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YUKARI!~

I totally don't know you, but I hope your birthday is awesome!

*Selphie gasps and suddenly stands stock still. She only inclines her head to peer down at the water at the hopes of catching a glimpse of him*

Mr Crabby... Come say Happy Birthday...

Look, he's crawling towards you--see?

Careful now...

[Yukari points towards a small crab that is crawling towards Selphie. The water's pretty clear, actually, so it's easy to spot him against the white sand...]

Oh!

*Selphie smiles, almost fondly, down at the little crab. And slowly, but surely, she cups her hands and digs the sand beneath it to lift it up out of the water*

Here he is!

You got him!

[Yukari looks almost too excited, looking on as she picks him up; and she watches him crawl frantically around the sand in Selphie's hands.

S-so cute...?!]

*Selphie nods excitedly, being very careful when she looks between the crab and Yukari*

You wanna hold him? He's tickly!

Oh--s-sure!

[Yukari holds her hands out nervously to accept the little crab.]

He's not gonna pinch me, is he...?

[M-Mostly joking, hahaha, but--!]

*Selphie very carefully emptied the sand and the crab into Yukari's hands*

Nah! He's okay. So long as you don't bug him any.

I-It kinda tickles....

[Some of the sand trickles out of her hands between the cracks as she works to close them, and she watches the little crab crawl around frantically, a grin on her face.]

*Selphie laughs and looks at the crab, leaning close to get an even better look*

I like him!

Me, too!

[And Yukari will laugh, trying to give Selphie a better view of him. He sure likes to move though.]

Hey, do you think he'd make a good pet...?

*Selphie smiled between Yukari and the crab, but at her question, Selphie seems a little distant, and she turns to glance out over the water*

Maybe...

...but what if he has a family... and friends..

I guess I hadn't thought about that.

[She tilts her head then, frowning. In a way, taking him away and putting him in some weird tank to take care of him...would be just like them being uprooted and brought to Vatheon.

She continues to watch though, thoughtful as well.]

I-I don't know if Minato-kun would approve anyway.

*Yup... Those are Selphie's thoughts exactly. And she couldn't do that to anyone*

*Selphie gives Yukari a curious look*

He doesn't like crabs?
