[Well. It's better late than never, isn't it?

It'd been a few days now since Yukari's birthday had passed on the nineteenth, and thanks to the kraken, she'd had to delay her plans

Selphie in the Water! Everyone Come Splash!

*Selphie was like a - a duck to water. And she oddly resembled one too. With all the flapping she was doing, and that yellow bikini, she did look a bit special. But she was clearly having a lot of fun, chasing the waves and jumping around.

Don't worry, Yukari! She hasn't forgotten it's your birthday. There's a big batch of reasonably edible chocolate cookies and a handmade birthday card waiting for her on the beach that says:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY YUKARI!~

I totally don't know you, but I hope your birthday is awesome!

[AND THEN Yukari decides to...maybe try on the new bikini that Yosuke got her. She slyly grabs it from her table of presents, after dropping the cookies off where the rest of the food is, and makes her way to the abandoned village not far off, to find a place to change.

...

The bikini fits way too well, and is way too cute, making her wonder just how Yosuke got her size and her taste right--

But she tries not to ponder it too long, and she walks back towards the beach to meet Selphie, slowly walking deeper and letting the waves rush over her feet. She can feel them sink into the sand, and laughs a little, as she looks at her.]

*Selphie looked up brightly at Yukari, and clapped her hands together to see how cute she looked in that bikini. Apparently, the girl really approves. Then she looked down into the waves and back at the girl again with an excited smile*

Looking for fish...or crabs!

[The water's pretty warm, so she has no problems wading herself in! That's certainly a relief. She looks down at the water when she mentions the fish and the crabs, hoping she doesn't step on anything--

And suddenly, she shivers.]

I-I think I just felt one run across my feet!

*Selphie makes a little jump herself, then splashes down to crouch in the water, stretching out her hands to see if she can grab for anything*

Come back Mr Crabby!

Mr. Crabby...?

[She repeats--stunned for a moment, as Selphie tries to grab for something she can't quite even see. This earns a bit of a giggle, since she didn't exactly expect to hear a nickname or anything.

She shakes her head though, sadly, looking at the sandy ocean floor, full of nothing but beautiful seashells.

She sees no movement among them, save from the ripple of waves.]

...It looks like he got away...

*Selphie nods, like it would be automatically assumed that this was the unseen crab's name. But then she stands straight and pauses, smiling down at the shells*

I guess he did!

*And she leans down to pick a selection of the best ones*

[Yukari follows suit!

...'cause she was kinda planning on doing that anyway. She's glad to see she's not upset about the crab loss, at any rate. She doesn't know what she would've done to console her.]

So are you the one who left me those delicious-looking cookies?

Oh! Uh huh!

*Selphie transfers the handfuls of shells to just one hand, some dropping around her feet, so that she can stick out a hand in greeting*

I'm Selphie! Nice to meet ya!

Yeah, same here! My name's Yukari.

[She shakes her hand. She does not have nearly as many seashells (it seems she's been kind of picky about them!), so it doesn't take nearly as much effort. |D;;]

Thanks a bunch! I hope you don't mind if I share them with some of the other guests.

*Selphie's midway bent over to scoop up those seashells when she jumps up again*

[Well--since they're hers, she figures she has a right to do with them as she pleases. But still, it's nice to have Selphie's approval.]

*Selphie paused and nodded*

It's a lovely party! You've got a lot of friends!

[At that, she giggles.]

Well, I'm still getting to know some of them. But I'm glad they could make it.

*Selphie smiles and nods*

That's good! It's nice that people can have good fun here.

[She grins. The city has its perks after all. She wants to be able to show that to everyone who's maybe not been having the best of times here...

I think Mr. Crabby came back--!

[Suddenly, Yukari's eyes widen. She doesn't want to scare him, though...]
