And btw I think the participant from UK wasn't THAT bad - much better than in the last years - and not that bad as the German girl-group was (actually I really like the No Angels, but this was the weakest song and they did the worst job ever! They sang totally off-key!). My favorite was the turkish group I think... I also liked Serbia and Israel...
Thanks for pointing this out - since I couldn't make it up to Jess's Eurovisual party, I neglected the European vision altogether... Reckon I just might seek out any CDs they might have made.
Their CDs are going like hot cakes. I hope I've successfully bought Troubamour on-line. The samples on their site made us go "oooohhh" like anything. I think some repressings will come through before long. And there's more to come later this year it appears.
I think the ones I enjoyed most were Finland and Latvia - Latvia with their incredibly camp but rather catchy Pirate song and Finland with their heavy rock Viking warrior/sheep-worriers.
Truly a magic Eurovision moment - grizzled macho Viking rockers, singing and pumping out loud music, as the subtitles proclaimed "Where all the men ride forth ... There the sheep cannot graze". Marvellous.
Songwise, I think Serbia may well have had the best song in the finals, but who's interested in that sort of thing? Not the voters, alas.
