P.S. I have no idea who any of these characters are (who are these people? Do I know them?), but I rather liked this little vignette (and not just because of the smut). :)
Yes. That's the thing that I like, that understanding.
Also -- doe to my weird internet situation, I won't be sending you that story until tomorrow morning, but it's not a rush because I wouldn't post it before Monday anyway. And I have this huge set of questions about Mal to bother you with, because you're pretty much the expert, there.
I see these first two parts as a whole -- the next bit is John's point of view, and won't be done until after the weekend, I suspect, because there's another part to follow it as well -- in other words, you'll have to wait a few days. But I'm so glad that you like this story! It's been a great deal of fun to write.
Yay, more already! :) And, oh, man, I can see this all so clearly - the fight with the weasel-things (chupacabras?) especially - and mmm, smut. I am so happy that they're able to help each other out, in (ahem) various ways.
I think the weasel-things are just some kind of weird breeding project by the local Dr. Moreau. Next week, Chinese zombies! But I'm really glad that the fight scene worked, because it's hard to get an action scene onto paper. At least, I find it so.
And yes, they're good for each other. I like that.
Action scenes ARE hard. I have to really visualize them before I can write them down, and then I can't tell whether I've written it clearly, because I can already see it. *facepalm* (... but I find I have the same issue writing sex - wait, where's his hand? ;) )
Oh, sex scenes. So my earliest writing and beta-reading experience was back in XF, writing Krycek, and if you think blocking sex scenes is hard anyway, try figuring out what a guy can and can't do with only one arm. I try to remember to count the number of arms and legs in any given scene, because every now and then you get some unusual results...
