Much belated update! also: who wants to go see the Eagle?
Dear Livejournal,
Since last we spoke, I have:
1. Finished my dissertation and graduated! Woo, I am Dr. Me! (Alternatively: Me, PhD.)
2. Moved to NYC for my postdoc! ...sometimes when I think about this, I am kind of impressed with my guts. Also: very very lucky that my family is supportive!
3. Been v. busy. Dear academia: why so difficult? SIGH.

I am not actually here. I am finishing my dissertation. Look: dissertating! And then I am moving to NYC in March to start my post-doc, which is a) amazing! b) terrifying! c) sort of hinges on finishing the freaking dissertation. I didn't even sign up for yuletide ( Read more... ) -
Updating in the form of two lists: compare and contrast
Things I should be doing:
1a. Running new analyses for a manuscript revision.
1b. Revising that manuscript.
2a. Figuring out what happened in that one study that is supposed to wrap up the dissertation.
2b. Writing up that series of studies for the dissertation.
2c. Writing up... oh, you know, the REST OF THE DISSERTATION, GOD.

Between RL and conference and post-conference plague, I missed the other days of 14valentines that I planned to do, but I hopefully this will come in under the wire?
Today's issue for 14valentines is International. The essay highlights the issues of interdependence and community, which really spoke to me. We are all in this together.

Things I've been up to...
... in no particular order:- I finally submitted the manuscript that WOULD NOT DIE. AHAHAHAHA! Mine is a... submitted? laugh. Um. Whatever! It is approximately two weeks before it rises from the dead like a zombie AUGH ZOMBIE MANUSCRIPT I hear back from the editor, huzzah!
