I was having dinner with a friend from out of town last night, and he had a bunch of the new $1 coins on the table, which I'd never really looked at before. The reverse is a very stunning picture of the Statue of Liberty. Really gorgeous.

I spent last weekend at Ladies Rock Camp in Portland. It's rock as in rock and roll, not rock as in boulders. Anyway, the schedule is crazy and fun. need transportation Wednesday morning

I'm getting a root canal done in Oakland near Alcatraz and Telegraph on Wednesday morning, and I'm going to need a ride there and back (doctor's orders, I'll be too medicated to take myself.)
It starts at eight. I imagine it'll be done by 10:15 at the latest, possibly sooner.

VeeV it Up
I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed with VeeV, the booze version.
Maybe it's better cold, but the flavor is primarly sickly tropical, just off dry, with a ginseng aftertaste. Mostly tastes like ethanol, really.
But I do have to say I like the marketing copy on the bottle, which I transcribe here for your pleasure:
