Being faced with decisions you know will impact very directly the rest of your life, or at least your immediate future, is interesting

Evan I am happy that you have these options even if they are causing you grief, and I know that if you commit yourself to something you will follow through. And about the friend thing, you need to have faith that we will keep in touch and still be here for you during the summer. I know you will make the right decision, and that is whatever makes you happy (life is too short to be miserable).
E-dog, I know exactly how you feel. This is scary stuff isn't it. Good luck, we'll both need it, as well as a little help from the Man Upstairs. Peace. Black Eagle, out.
Hey Comrade, Congrats on your Nomination I'm in the same boat brother I could wait for the Academy to accept or reject me and so MUCH rides on the line for March 1st Do I really want to go to the Academy and vitually 'die' to all my friends because of absence and communication loss? Oh my, Oh my, the life an aspiring fighter pilot leads....
Good Luck Brother, and If you go, Lets Dorm together Over and Out Comrade - Moley
As for "the paying," the HOPE scholarship would help you out there. And other scholarships are only needed in minimal amounts to cover books and stuff. As for being "lost in the crowd," the Academy would be largely the same way. That's why I chose, instead of going to a big-name school, to pick a smaller one (like Samford...about 3000 undergrads) so I wouldn't feel that way.
Most importantly, try not to think of it as such a "monumental life choice." First, what college you go to doesn't really make much difference in what kind of job you get...they just tell you it does. UGA grads have the same chance of being lawyers as Harvard grads. Second, I bet you've never heard anyone say they didn't like where they went to college, right? Well that's because no matter where you go, your experience and your education is going to be awesome. Whatever you decide, it's the right choice.
