...things took a different twist tonight. Harder to write, but definitely more interesting. To me anyway. I stopped at 9999 words, because that's a fun total. One fifth of the way there.

Well, I suck. The writing seminar I wanted to take this weekend (plotting fiction) is no longer offered on the website, so it must have filled up. That's what I get of waiting until the day before to try to sign up. So I signed up for the one for next weekend. Next week's seminar covers publishing. It never fails. As soon as I have some kind of scary and immutable deadline at work, or for something completely unrelated and totally unfun, that's when I get all the good story ideas. OK, I don't know how good they are...that's when I get all the ideas I want to write about.

The Halloween costumes this year were great. On Halloween night, I saw several homemade superheros, more than a dozen Minions, a few escapees from The Hunger Games, lots of generic ghosts and demons, and a few truly creative costumes.
