I was under the impression that the gum would be somehow... alphabetical, perhaps a learning aid for young children... like alphabet soup! Or that Alphabets cereal~

... alternatively I thought that it would be gum used to communicate secret messages that could be ascertained by staring at the unique and mysterious strokes and symbols hewn into each piece.
