Contemplation

I love to read and I love to write. I have read countless books and fanfictions. I have a lot of respect and admiration for many, very talented writers. In regard to fanfiction, people invest time and effort into providing stories to readers for free. I do not always like what I read and some people write truly atrocious and their story lines are ( Read more... )

Yes, I also agree. It not easy to write. You all spend time and effort to write fic free for people that like to read. We should be more happy to enjoy reading stories from this website. People who don't like, don't read! Please don't affect other readers. Please continue to contribute more fics, keep up the good work! Readers like me would like to read... =)

The saying goes if you have nothing good to say, then say nothing. I have always followed this idea if I've read a story that I didn't like.

But I also know that I'm doing less and less reading of fanfic these days since it seems like no one is amenable to writing and posting a COMPLETED story.

While people might enjoy writing, it isn't fair of them to just post bits and pieces and leave their readers hanging sometimes forever when life gets in the way of the writers writing.

The only way you get any feedback from me and probably lots of other people is when we read your completed story, I'm not going to waste my precious little free time reading a incomplete story that might never be finished.

You might not be getting paid for your stories, but if you want to be taken seriously, you need to be just as committed to treating your writing and readers seriously and with respect. It is a two way street that works both ways.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I totally agree with you. Complete stories are the way to go. I think it is different if it is a one shot and you might write a sequel. I also cannot stand it to read a story and then it never gets finished. I did not consider this at first when I started to write and post. So, I have two DWP WIP and one Twilight WIP still going on and I feel awful for not having the time to properly work on them. Consequently, I have decided to finish future stories first, and then post them. The current WIP though, I feel I have to continue post chapter wise, because that way people at least know that I am still working on them and have not abandoned my stories ( ... )
