*sigh* don't do this to yourself. again. i mean...if it's what you really want, and you think that you can live with being partially content, then i guess do what you think is better. don't go back to him because you are lonely, or because you are feeling lost or out-of-sorts. i don't know what other advice i can give you, or if you even wanted any in the first place.
of course i want your advice, silly girl. are you not the one i always run to? thank you so much for everything. seriously. you are literally, my best friend right now. i can't even imagine what i would have done without you. it would have been insane. i agree with what you have said. i will give it time.. i think. p.s. i got my prom dress today. it is gorgeous. =]
hmm, this is a tough situation. When you break up with someone, it's a HUGE change and a terrible shock to your system, especially if you were going out for a while like you and Dan were. It's inevitable that it's going to hurt like hell for quite some time afterwards, unfortunately. If, deep down in your heart, you really feel like you made a mistake, I would say to talk to him, but maybe wait a day or two until it's sunk in a little bit more. On the other hand, think about all the things that didn't make you happy in the relationship. Not every couple is meant to be; some are just meant to last for a short amount of time, and that's all. Maybe you guys need to take some time off to figure out where you stand? I don't really know, but I think the answer rests somewhere inside you. Try to think about it as objectively as possible, and if you can, remove yourself from the situation. Imagine a friend was in your place - what would you tell him/her to do? That might help
( ... )
i completely agree with you - a HUGE change and a terrible shock. ugh. i am going to wait a few days, i think. i don't think i would be able to face him right now even if i wanted to. that was the initial idea, a break. he didn't want a break. so.. i guess i'm not sure now. you're so good at advice, seriously. if you weren't already majoring in lit, then.. yep. you're SORRY that it's so long? oh please! i have read it multiple times, i love long comments. i especially appreciate that you went out of your way to comment. that is amazing. thank you. i love you. <3
hey you sound like me when i broke up with don for a little while so i can tell you what people told me wait a while and then see how you feel... sort of convenient for the rest of this week, you probably won't see him too much some people will say wait a few weeks i think i waited about a week and a half before i couldn't take it anymore and in the end, it made everything better for us... like now i think we have a better perspective i guess you should just do what makes you happy, but i do think you need to wait at least a little while to see if these feelings are just for now, or if they're going to last
i agree with you about the perspective thing. we have broken up before, so i know how that all goes. i think you're right, it's all about figuring out what makes me happy. it's my life. i really hope that everything becomes more clear to me. i hate this back and forth stuff. it's exhausting. thank you so much for your concern, you're awesome, and i am very happy that everything worked out with don.
Well. Sarah left me a week ago. Now she is so freakin happy with life, started with another guy, and dosent worry about me anymore. The cause? 100 miles. And a guy like me closer.
sigh*
I did nothing wrong. It is just how it is. I wasnt worth it to her, contrair to her words of "love". Im choosing to move on, i may not take her back like....last time.
I read through this whole convo. Some things i could recognize in my situations...but its very different since mine is long distance. You have the trouble of seeing him everyday. I also agree to not just run back to him so quickly. You need weeks to think about things. We are still in high school and have college to go through so take it easier. Im trying to...even though Sarah hurt me so bad this time.
Relationships are crazy. There is usually no right way to go about it. pray.
i'm really sorry to hear that, phil. that must have been hard on you. i know how you felt about her. sometimes i guess that no matter how much you try to change it, you're going to end up where you're supposed to. it's hard to see it right now, i know exactly how that feels personally. like, with dan, there is still such a huge part of me that has no idea what i am going to do without him. all i know is that i am content with where i am going, because like we have said so many times, what's right wil find its way. it's awesome that you read through the whole thing. i just kind of posted it randomly, because i wanted to share my feelings. i do think i need to think about things first. it makes the most sense. i know we still have lots of time. i am not worried. i'm really sorry that sarah hurt you so badly. i hope you're recovering alright. i agree. they are crazy for sure. i'll do just that. =] thanks phil.
it seems to me like you are thinking that if you don't get back together, then the whole thing must become a thing of the past. though it is human nature to want to grow, and stalling that growth will ultimately lead to despair, this is not the case
( ... )
wow, this has been an incredibly long [and definitely appreciated] comment, mr. evans! i completely agree with you about the growth thing. i have learned a lot from daniel, there's no doubt. i know that i would be a completely different person if he wasn't in my life for so long. i think you're probably right. if i stopped growing, and being challenged, then it made things harder. i guess i never really looked at things from that perspective. i really hope you're right about being able to stay friends and learn from each other though we are apart. from my understanding, "breaking up" merely eliminates the exclusivity of a relationship, but not the relationship itself.i completely, 100% agree with that statement. i want nothing more than for this to be true
