So I've been home for nearly a month now. And I miss New York like a fat kid on a diet misses cake. So far I've visited my large/crazy family in Portland, and friends in Santa Barbara (which made me realize why I didn't chose to go to school in Southern California...good for vacation, impossible to study in with beaches 10 minutes from campus, etc ( Read more... )

Last night we found the 7-11 here in Manhattan. At midnite. We got slurpies and taquitos. It was snowing. I was wearing: sweatpants, sweatshirt, big puffy vest, red scarf, mittens from New Zealand, beanie, and my colorful striped rainboots. I looked ridiculous. It made me very happy ( Read more... )

I went for a walk today. Walked out my door and all over the city. Wandering makes me feel good. It was my kind of weather- grey but not windy. Chilly but not too cold. Like it should almost rain, but instead just mists. I wore my yellow scarf.
