grades and presents

Apparently grades in Norway are (unsurprisingly) on a different scale than the American system, a system which doesn't usually make sense anyway and is always subjective. I assume it is equally subjective here, but all the teachers and students have told me that it is exceedingly hard to get an A here, and that most students are happy to get a C ( Read more... )

Wow! well done on the high grades.

I have also had that convensation w. norwegians about the near impossibility of getting high grades. Could it be different for subjects like music I wonder?

thank you! I supposed it could be different for music, but what do you mean by "different?" If you mean "easier," then I must disagree. My class is not actually about music. The class has been mostly studying philosophical topics; the class does not particularly refer to music, but rather traditional Norwegian arts in general and therefore discusses many theoretical ideas about art and tradition.

Oh I didn't mean easier necessarily - its just that I don't know anyone doing a subject in Norway other than the strictly academic ones at larger universities so i'm not even sure if the grading system would be the same.
