I wrote this today as I walked back from west cliff after spending a few hours communing with the sea. It was inspired by an egret that I watched for awhile...my mothers totem animal has always been egrets and so I began to fill my depths with this poem. I was half in tears on my walk back and I had to sit on a bench in order to write the poem down. The rain was drizzling on my sketch book as I wrote the words that had flowed from my heart. After I had placed my words onto paper I stood up and after taking a few steps I looked back onto the bench...it felt as if I had left something of myself there, someone I used to be.
The rest of my journey back to the apartment was filled with tears but I felt a new found strength inside of me that I had never realized I had.

hmm...good question, when I wrote the poem it seemed as if the journey home would take this entire lifetime...that feelings still persists. I am much closer to my home but I have much more to live before then.
peace
