The first part of the Tony Hill / Carol Jordan series, where they meet and the weird sexual tension and friendship is established. Either I’m getting more squeamish or this one is more disturbing than the other books in the series. It also might be that I just don’t like to read about torture.

hamster cheek
I had a wisdom tooth extraction on Thursday morning and it went considerably better than I had feared. The surgery itself was over in ten minutes or so and I was only in the surgeon's office for an hour altogether. I have a few stitches in my lower jaw though. I just had organic meat and organic cheese with organic bread for dinner while watching a particularly cheesy episode of true blood (my current guilty pleasure) and am now slowly starting to feel human again.

I woke up at 9 pm confused, disoriented and with crazy hair.
I know I shouldn't have had a nap at 6 pm but I was so tired, I thought I'd just close my eyes for a few minutes. I chose the hottest weekend of the year to show Vienna to our intern, R.. she's from germany and had never been before, so I took her to visit my sister and do some sightseeing. some, ha!
it was quite a weekend. we started with a tour of the naschmarkt and karlsplatz and then ended up in museumquarter for a drink on friday night.

do you remember when I whined, whinged and complained about my broken dishwasher?
tomorrow is the day it might be fixed. yeah, i don't believe in it either.

arachnophobia
Three different kinds of spiders live in my flower box. More importantly I have white (thrips, maybe?) and black bugs. I bought poison, but have second thoughts from reading the warning labels. Only since I read that the poison is not harmful to bees I wonder if that's really true and how they affect ichneumon flies, for example.

A graphic novel about the author’s parents story of leaving the German Democratic Republic in the 80ies. It’s a moving story. I selected the book for our library and ordered it, so I’m a little proud of my first addition to the collection.
