Warning, Caly and I have a plan of trips to take over the next few year. The Pacific NW is on the list. Somewhere. It was further out, but since going east hasn't worked well the last two years, we're going to try west. Our first attempt at that will be this summer. I supposed the NW could be the next year. The only thing we have a time on is Yellowstone/WY/MT in 2017 because of the full eclipse. Which, btw, it won't be too far from you. (Closer to the blue center line is better, inside the grey you'll get to see something.) http://www.eclipse2017.org/2017/maps/washington.gif
Of course, I think the PNW is where everyone should live, and I also think going west is a good choice ;). And Portland is awesome! So thanks for the warning - but I hope you'll come soon!
This summer we're going into CA and then north on 395 along the west side of the mountains. Spend a few days in the Tahoe/Carson City area, and then work our way south the east side of the mountains. We'll hit Yosemite, and Sequia along the way.
We had to start listing where we wanted to go and guessing at priority when we started tossing out 'we should go...' and didn't want to forget them
Sounds fab, even including the dust and shadows at work... Yeay for a new house, even if packing's a pain. And yeay for more creative time with new house!
Moving house is such a complicated matter, especially for someone as lazy as I am. Having to do it twice in one year does not make me happy, but the end is in sight and I'll have my own space again! I've missed my house in Olympia so much, and this apartment, while fine and functional, is still just a nameless apartment in a block of nameless apartments. Now I'll have a townhouse that looks like every other townhouse in the development - but it'll be mine, all mine!
So how's the knee/leg/appendage that's been giving you so much grief?
Yay for a new house, that's exciting! Hope the move goes smoothly. :)
Spartacus is on my ever-growing Netflix queue, so I'll get to it someday!
I finished work on another high school musical in mid-March. We did Willy Wonka this year & the props were quite a challenge in their oddness! But the kids did well & we were all quite thrilled w/ the final outcome! :)
Was that the WW with "I want the world, I want the WHOLE world"? song? I sing that a lot ;). And you, always with the musicals and the weddings. And now your barricade boys - you do love the angst, don't you!
Well, I'm hoping once this move is done I'll get settled into Portland life and won't feel like I'm a transient in this perfectly fine, perfectly boring apartment. Geez, what a year!
Yep, that song was one of them! I had it (& others) stuck in my head for weeks as is always the case around musical time. Now we wait until May to see if we were nominated for any Gene Kelly awards. :)
No more weddings right now, thankfully! Well, a friend is getting married in August but I'm just invited, not IN it!
