The first for the beautiful and strikingly Michael-ish simile, and the second for his grim, pragmatic realization that if he hadn't played her, the escape wouldn't have come off.

he allows himself to think that he could have had that kind of life with her, the kind of life where she would wear his t-shirts to bed and accidentally write shopping lists on his important blueprints and sketches.

I loved how you wrote his dilemma. He is a man considering action and consequence and though this is what makes him tick it won't keep him from regretting what his actions have cost Sara.
Boy how I love this fandom (am still a newbie) and his complex, wonderful characters. And how I love this fic for capturing Michael's complexity.
