Well done you!!! Brilliant way to start off your PB writing career! And to celebrate your first real post in your new lj!!

I loved it! Your insight into the character of Michael is very impressive and you really have a handle on what it's like to be Michael!

Thanks for sharing this beauty, sweetheart!

That's all so nice of you to say! To be honest, I was really worried that people were going to find this story almost too fluffy, or something... But I have a hunch that, on the inside, Mike's a big ole sap anyway!

And thank you for reading it! :o)

Well, this is pretty much perfect. You've written a fantastic Michael who conveys his guilt and regret without turning him into a 'OH NOES!' puddle of angst.

*adds to memories*

*goes to pimp on her LJ*

Yah for you writing PB fics, and I have my fingers crossed that you'll write lots more.

Well, PB is basically my life these days (I hate it when those stupid things like college get in the way!) so I'm thinking that the plot bunnies are here to stay, at least for the time being.

Your review is so kind, and the pimpage is delightful! Thanks a lot!

(I'm totally the queen of exclamation points right now! Sorry about that.)

I know the feeling - this show (and related plot bunnies) have been eating my brain for a few months now. And I *love* it.

Pimpage is always a pleasure when you find a fic treat like this on your flist. *g* I hope we see you around these parts a lot more. No pressure or anything. Heh.

This is really beautiful! I read it last night in prisonbreakfic.com then read it again just now. You write Michael's character very well.

Sometimes, like when he feels Linc might be almost safe, he allows himself to think that he could have had that kind of life with her, the kind of life where she would wear his t-shirts to bed and accidentally write shopping lists on his important blueprints and sketches. Because he finds he believes her when she says she is a disorganized packrat. (You should see my apartment, she muttered wryly.) Maybe he could have had that life with her before, you know, he’d gotten himself incarcerated. This thought is always followed with the seemingly insignificant detail that, had he not gotten himself incarcerated, he would not have met her. And, as his subconscious stubbornly refuses to let him forget, he barely knows her, despite the fact that her high school yearbook photo hung on his wall for months.

I love this part! It reminds me of that scene in End of the Tunnel - "Do you ever think, in ( ... )

Wow, thanks! I hope that Michael seemed realistic to you guys.

I love that scene too! (And... "Today's my birthday." I don't know why, but that really gets to me.)

Thanks again!

Ohmygod. I feel like this fic is a magnet and my brain is the thing attracted to it. Ohmygod I love this so much. Partly because I am hopelessly addicted to Michael POV's, and they are so rare, and partly because your writing style is so warm and cozy feeling (if that makes sense). Like it's been lived in or something.

And !!!!!!!! for the tiny little bit you wrote about the life they could have had. I think about that alllll the time because it helps me balance out the misery of their current situation. Thank you for this: he kind of life where she would wear his t-shirts to bed and accidentally write shopping lists on his important blueprints and sketches. I paused in my reading and imagined the really minor fight they would have had about that. Haha, now I'm just grinning like a loon.

This is really, really wonderful and I'm desperately hoping you write more of them. Thank you so much for writing this one, it's going straight to my memories.

And can I friend you?

Your review is awesome -- thanks for being so sweet!

I think about that alllll the time because it helps me balance out the misery of their current situation.

I wonder about this stuff as well. I know the show is probably not going to end happily (eek!) but I want it to so badly. I just want their whole crew to survive (Yes, even T-Bag. Is it bad that he's like my favorite character?), and for Michael and Linc to get to Panama... blah blah.

Anyway, I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and OF COURSE you may friend me! Nothing would make me happier :o)

(I scrolled through the other comments after returning here to reply to your reply, and I just have to say that the line about the t-shirts and shopping lists was quoted many a time. I have a hunch all these angst lovers are secretly jonesing for some fluff, and that expanding on that sentence could lead to a jackpot of squee ( ... )
