Yeah, I just hope that folks show up to participate! AR is really dependent on having people who are willing to spend time at an event just doing what they do and maybe answering some questions from people wandering through and maybe showing some new folks how to get started. But without Artisans, it sort of doesn't work!
And I keep trying to make sure people don't think that they have to be a Laurel to be an Artisan - if you know how to do something and are comfortable maybe having people look on as you do it, you're welcome.
I'm going to bring some little flyers to Clothier's to see if I can get more folks interested. Hopefully it will go smashingly well and people will want to do it again. Of course, that begs the question of where next, but one step at a time..!
Deal. My guess is that the next one might be at WW, which is our "kingdom"-level summer event (second weekend in July) - or at least at the event that it seems most of the Kingdom is at. Although, if it goes well and folks are into it, I might also see about getting one set up before then, but I have no idea where.. Neither Crown nor Coronation seem appropriate and most of the other events throughout the spring are more focused (or more regional and therefore smaller) on a particular activity. There's a Tournament of Champions (which is actually being hosted by my Shire and therefore terribly convenient) that might work, but, for the same reason as Crown, it seems a bit inappropriate.
I plan on being there to just sit and spin. I'm thinking about breaking out the Queen Ann's Lace and copper dye bath and use it on some roving prior to BH. I gave some roving dyed like that the Duchess Fina when she was Queen and it was a really pretty mint green color.
