Oh, thank goodness!

I am so happy you updated and you know what? I really like the Annie/Pierce dynamic here - I think it's something the show touches on ever so briefly and then tends to largely ignore. Absolutely lovely look at Annie and Pierce!

Thanks so much! I actually don't mind that the show doesn't often bring their relationship to the forefront. We know it's there and they know it's there and every so often we get a little treat like in the #AnniesMove episode, and it feels natural and like established characterization. Of course, exploring those kinds of things in depth is one of the reasons fanfic even exists, so I'm glad you enjoyed!

I think you're right in that if they drew attention to it consistently, it would lose some of the specialness. Besides which, Pierce being kind and caring too often really ruins, well, Pierce. Can't wait for the next part!

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!! is all I need to say.

I absolutely LOVE that Pierce is giving Annie away. It's so much more appropriate than her dad, I feel.

Indeed. Annie's been one of the group members most open about thinking of the study group as her family, largely because she doesn't really have any connections to her own, so even though I wanted to give Annie and her dad a second chance, it was always going to be Pierce walking down the aisle.

Thanks for the lovely compliments. Showing and not telling is something I consciously work on, especially since I dabble in playwriting, where telling instead of showing is both very tempting and very obvious. I learned that lesson the hard way when I heard the words of my first play spoken out loud for the first time during casting for it and couldn't for the life of me figure out WHY THIS CHARACTER WAS STILL SAYING STUPID SHIT. So the fact that you bring it up in a positive way is very gratifying.

And yes, Jeff is next :-) No point in keeping it secret!

Loved it! For some reason throughout the preceding chapters I thought that Pierce was dead... So I'm glad he's not, that would be too depressing. I also really loved Pierce's sneeze at the end, nice season 1 call-back.

Another chapter! It's like extra Christmas! :-)

First off, if I didn't mention this before then I was completely remiss, but you write an exceptional Pierce. It felt like his character throughout from the mannerisms to the dialogue. I'm going to echo the earlier commenter who mentioned the leaves. It was a lovely way to convey Pierce's change in demeanor from the earlier almost absentminded brushing of the leaves to the excessive tearing of them later. Fantastic detail.

"Your name's Andy Cohen?" Pierce says in greeting.

His jaw clenches again. "I go by Andrew now."

"Sure," nods Pierce. "I bet that fixes everything."I laughed out loud when I read that. Even more than the Hawthorne Wipes reference - which was brilliant, by the way. I could just picture so clearly the looks on Andy and Pierce's faces during that exchange and it cracked me up ( ... )

Aw, thanks Steph! I'm gonna need you to keep up the Twitter nagging for realsies, because I know the Jeff ones will be hard, if only because I've spent so long building to it ( ... )
