I felt I ought to keep track somehow of books that have been part of the collection ("home library") for varying lengths of time and we've decided to let go. The other channel would be to list them in Goodreads, which I may get to before too long. So, here, from the stack (smallest on top):

The superior primitive sensory receptor
...located in the olfactory bulb (of the brain stem or some term I never learned?), is apparently what wakes Bunnie, the dog, from her slumber* on the sofa, whenever one of us is in the kitchen and opens a particularly aromatic goodie. Blueberry still does it for me
DH indulged us with a few pastries this morning now that the local artisanal bakery has reopened after the weeklong Passover holiday. The round almond pastries are, I think, superior to the weekends-only bear claw we get every Saturday. The pinwheel with a scant spoonful of creme patisserie and two berries is definitely better fresh than day-old, ( Read more... ) -

...which I didn't realize, is a city, in Kerala. I suppose because of the term "Cochin Jews" it seemed like it would be a region, but then again there's Saloniki.
