Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked it. :) I tend to merge canon scenes with bits of my very perverted imagination (I did it once before with a Spider-Man fic I wrote almost three and a half years ago, lol). I guess I just can't help looking at subtext... bwahaha.

Someone made a YouTube Dignam/Costigan video; it kills me every time. I love those two characters so, so much.

This is really, really good. It fits the tone and the events of the film perfectly, and you've done a great job with the characters. Billy is just gut-wrenching, while never being over done or overly dramatic. It's gritty and realistic and harsh and suberb - well done.

Thank you so much. Your feedback means a great deal to me, as this fic is kind of my "baby". :) And yeah, I didn't want to overdo or dramatize Billy, or Dignam for that matter--they're both so rough around the edges, but I wanted to bring out a very faint softness in both of them.

Wow, great I've been waiting for a new story in this community for ages.
And yours is really good, I love the way you describe Billy's feelings towards Dignam. I like the idea of the two of them having this easy companionship you show so well. But the ending is so sad...
Why didn't Dignam tell Billy his real feelings? :-(

The characters of Billy and Dignam (in my mind, anyway) are waaaay too emotionally stunted to ever tell each other how they really feel, lol, which makes for an overload of angst.

Aw, thank you! I'm so glad you liked this! And I definitely recommend The Departed as a fandom, but it's becoming far too addictive for my tastes, haha. I already have 5 Mark Wahlberg movies in my Netflix queue. He's just such a beefcake kalglskaklsagkalsl I love him.
