Mushing on the Yukon river

In the spring I mentioned to an itinerant musher that I had never been on a dogsled... so he took me! I got to ride in the basket, and for a while I even got to drive the team. This pic is after I drove - I'm back in the basket and we're coming back towards Dawson from the far side of the Yukon river. It was an AMAZING ride. Reminded me a bit of

You know what visiting you up there did? The snow doesn't look scary to me anymore. In fact, I find this really pretty.

It's definitely not scary! It was totally fun and beautiful, and even a warm spring day.

I honestly used to find it frightening, though. When Jenn would post pictures of digging out her car or something? My heart rate would actually go up. Kind of funny, now, but it really did scare me. I'm glad I had a chance to not-die in it.

I'll have to take a picture this winter of my car buried. Oooh. Remind me to post a picture of some of the copious snow drifts around my house! Day after tomorrow. I'll find a good one.
