C'est la vie.

I attempted to see An American Haunting last night because I get a sick, masochistic joy out of laughing at un-scary scary movies. That didn’t work, at least partially because the projectionist was an idiot. Also, at least half the people I know (and don’t know) at Eupheme were there to see the same thing, i.e. a blank white screen ( Read more... )

You mean that everyone doesn't need to know how you went home with Bill and Aj and had a threesome?

I guessed that one last, desperate attempt at subduing the gossip would at least be the dignified thing to do... you know, maybe there was a vague, half-chance that people at the theatre last night would hold their tongues.

Not that anything else about this was dignified. And not that I should expect you of all people to stay quiet.

"You of all people?" What's with the holier-than-thou? If you didn't want people talking, you shouldn't have made out in front of all those people. You were in public, after all. Don't see why you can't talk about it in a public forum when you were MAKING OUT WITH PEOPLE IN PUBLIC.

I even offered you an out, in case you didn't want to. You didn't take it. So don't get high-and-mighty or shame-faced or whatever this is you are now.

I don't particularly care if people from the area who were in that theatre saw us. To them I'm just another anonymous artsy fart from Eupheme. So, I went into the corridor. I didn't tell everyone else from Eupheme to come out there, too, but they did. I don't take any responsibility for what you and other people decided to do, and for what you, therefore, incidentally saw. And you can call my behavior now high-and-mighty or shamefaced or whatever you please, but I call it the behavior of someone who is dreadfully confused by the overly dramatic interactions of everyone around me. I would rather stay out of the drama, thank you.

I'm planning to travel this summer, but I don't know where. Money wouldn't be an issue - pick wherever you'd like.

We would have to stop in Rome for a little while at least. The downside of that is that there will be business I can't take you with me to do for a few days. The up side is that if you want, I can introduce you to the Pope.

The Pope? La belle cité de Rome?

Well, I'm not sure what to say to that, other than you present a very tempting notion. I will keep this in mind.
