Reading week

Feb 18, 2010 19:17

I have been such a grown-up this week! I cooked supper (COOKED!) three (THREE!) days in a row! Something about being home most of the day for spring break apparently makes me productive. I made pancakes (on Tuesday, naturally), then meatballs and rice yesterday, and ham and mashed potatoes today. My brother thinks it's hilarious - I probably haven' ( Read more... )

Right? It's so rare that I bother to make food that my stomach is actually not used to it :P Very yummy, though.

Why thank you, my dear! I'm rather impressed with myself :D

My overall goal is to use the food I have in my freezer (e.g., meatballs, a ham :P ) so when that runs out, I think I'm back to sandwiches and cereal....

A person ought to be able to live on cereal. It would make life so much easier.

Wouldn't it just? I love cereal, especially since I've found lactose-free milk. I think it makes me smarter, especially in the middle of an allnighter :D

I say ON-velope, must be a Canadian thing :P

I'm beginning to think so! So far in the poll we're three Canadians and two Americans who say it the "right" way :P I actually only noticed it when an American at my church said it "wrong"!

ONvelope is a more "English" pronunciation, believe it or not, and I go inbetween both Onvelope and ENvelope.

Yeah, see I think if I was telling someone how to pronounce it, I would say EN, but in actual usage I say ON. Which means that my brain is a very confused place.

I would be obsessively watching the Olympics, if I was back in Canada (like I was the last time they were on *cries* it's been that long???) and had fantastic coverage of them. but I don't, and we have shit coverage that's only on generally in the mornings, with a really crap general coverage for a few hours a night. It sucks.

Wow, that is so not a problem here. It's basically all Olympics, all the time. Which, if I cared enough about it, would be fantastic (but is really annoying when all I want is to find a weather report :P )

Maybe we should trade! You can have this snowstorm too... I bet that's one of the other things you miss about Canada :D

Pencil crayons! Icon! Pencils that colour with, um, colours. What do you call them? I need to do another language poll (current question: is a corndog the same as a pogo? Because, if so, I've been mis-imagining lots of food items).

I agree! I should come and cook for you! I make fantastic grilled cheese sandwiches, too. You make up a couch for me and I will be there.

I guess we call them just colored pencils. I have no idea what a pogo is...but a corndog is a hotdog fried in batter with a stick. Mmmm corndog sounds good right now.

Grilled cheese sounds awesome too!
