Last night I saw "Super Size Me," Morgan Spurlock's adventures eating way too damn much McDonalds food. It's an interesting and horrifying look at junk food culture. I highly recommend it. Living in the South East means you make new friends all through the summer and fall. They tend to be quite fickle, but it's really intense while it lasts. Ivan's getting close - he seems to be favouring Alabama. Jeanne's a bit further out so we're not really sure where she's headed. Just a follow-up to my second-last post. I did in fact have a new water heater that very same day. I've thought on occasion about looking for a cheaper place to live - but I wouldn't have my awesome landlord and the apartment wouldn't be as nice. So here I'm going to stay. At least until I leave this town.

I want anyone and everyone who reads this to post in here something they would like to do with me someday. Then post this in your journal to find out what I want to do with you.

At 3 AM last night I was stumbling around the kitchen trying to get a drink of water when I realized that there was a big puddle on the floor. And the water heater was making noises it had never made before. I turned off the gas and the water, cleaned up most of the water on the floor, and called my landlord. On Friday I achieved one of the greatest moments of my already very geeky career: I remastered Knoppix. I took the latest version (3.6), unpacked it on my hard drive, added and removed a bunch of packages, and stuffed it back on a CD. I've been playing with Linux live CDs (I did say this journal would be about Linux ...) and last night I booted up Mandrake Move, Mandrake's live CD that attempts to get you to buy their product. I'm obsessed with the Olympics: I've been watching several hours of TV nearly every night. Which is difficult because I don't actually have cable. But I've managed.
