Day 2 of the GP went very badly. I liked both of my decks, but in the first draft I lost every die roll and mulled twice every round. Basically I just hit an extremely long run of bad luck. Out of my old house downtown. In my new room at Misha's now. Not remotely unpacked, stuff is randomly in boxes in the house and in my car. Tonight I'll get it all into my room before leaving Madison for 4 weeks for Gen Con, Bangkok, Niigata and Prague.

In case this trip wasn't going well enough already, I finished 4th out of 1495 players in the GP. $1500 and 6 pro points. A very good showing, but also pretty disappointing. I made a mistake in the last game of my last round that cost me the game. I'm pretty sure I would have won the tournament otherwise. I need to start following strict rules ( Read more... )

It only took 3 days in Barcelona to find the perfect man for Lex.

The man running the game moves match boxes around with a stone, flashing the stone just as he finishes so that it's very obvious where it is. Took the bus tour, it's not really my thing in that I didn't really take away anything memorable, but I spent the entire day being a tourist. Went back to the street we were on yesterday, but this time we bought some fruit/fresh juice and Rudy took a picture of the living statue Lex asked about.
