I think you wrote Petunia's thoughts and feelings perfectly. You can see how misguided her thoughts are but at the same time you can still feel sorry for her. It's lovely the way you pulled off that combination.

And I love that last sentence.

I guess the way I see Petunia is someone who doesn't really understand her sister's choices, and who was bitter to begin with. And that with time her bitterness has just got more twisted as she's also had to deal with grief that she just can't express. Her husband's attitudes have also shaped how she sees the world... in particular what she wants and how Harry has interfered with her plans to just be normal.

And I'm glad you like that last sentence. I really wanted to mention the moon - especially on discovering it was waning which made me think of something drawing to a close. And yay! I managed to find plants that could be grown in England - even if it requires a greenhouse - that had references to James and Lily even if Petunia isn't consciously aware of it.
