When my favourite aunt passed away a couple of years ago, my sister's response was "Well, that's the last of the aunts and uncles. It's our turn now!"

Indeed they do... Doesn't matter how old the person is, but younger people seem even more unfairly taken *hugs you back*
Any reason you can't be in Canada with your family? It must be really hard to not be able to be there.

Bad timing really. New job, so no leave... Also this is a busy time of the year at my work. :(
