1. I was in the gifted programs in school, but my weakest area was definitely math. English has always come easily to me, but what helped in Math was teachers realizing that I liked art and language, so they used patterns and visual things along with a sentence construction to help me figure out stuff like "What percent of 133 is 16?" and the like. I'm sure they tell you this kind of thing already, but finding another strength in a student and using that to work on something he's not so awesome at was super effective for me
( ... )
Heck, I loved story time in German class and I was 17, and my senior year, we had our English teacher tell stories in our AP English class because we were all bored with 'Heart of Darkness', so, trust me, I loved me some story time. (And still do.) I've just witnessed my younger brother be too cool for story time a few times in his highschool career, so I thought I'd err on the side of caution.
I just remember when the head of the History department at our school walked in while we were all sitting on the floor, as our teacher read us from a book with pandas and philosophy, and showed us the picture after every page.
1. I'm not sure. I know our yearbooks are hard-cover. Last year it was black and white, except for the first thirty pages of the book, which were "Student Life", which included pictures from the school dances, graduation, and our state football game. This year everything was in color.
2. I have no experience that would help with that.
3. Signatures. The high school yearbooks I've gotten have a lack of space for that many signatures, as well as being various shades of orange that are rather hard to read some of the words against.
The student life section, in addition to what is listed above, includes random questions like "What teacher reminds you of a Sesame Street character?" and "If I ruled the world..." with five or six answers per question from students. Then we also have everyone's picture and activity/sports pages.

Gifted Seminar, a high school junior/senior class about philosophy, had story-time several times throughout the year, and we all enjoyed it greatly.
