Brian got me a Kindle Fire for Christmas! Now I need to load it with books! I haven't been paying attention to what's out there in a long time. I got "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest", and a couple of free classic books (Sherlock Holmes, The Time Machine.) But am interested in some new stuff. I need suggestions, please!

We were in Best Buy, comparative shopping, and I had to laugh when I saw a Dad with his <1 year old son in a shopping cart. The result of some trial and error, tree ornaments cast in resin, hand painted with enamel paint. Go look!

I checked the mold this morning and it came out great! There were a few places where the silicone flowed into holes I hadn't realized were there, but nothing that can't be fixed with an exacto knife. Today, I mix resin, and if all goes well, will unveil my latest creation!

A few weeks ago, I went up to Olympia so that an artist friend could show me how to do resin casting. She very generously offered to teach me in return for some help in the studio.
