Old men have muscle maturity, they can build it faster and the muscles look harder - which is supposed to be appealing. BUT, some people obsess about working about because they actually get high off it and/or because they have no control over their lives (a form of anorexia). I bet his wife tells him what to do and how to do it every night he gets home from work.
