PLEASE HELP. I am pretty much hopeless at crafts.

As a rule, I multitask. Dinner and a movie? Try dinner and a movie and reading a book, and writing a paperSo why can't I crochet and read at the same time? I've got three months to finish Bobo's blanket, and I'm not even through the third row. Instead of pushing forward, I keep pausing to do stupid shit, like RP, or write, or check Twitter, or text ( Read more... )

life: crocheting, family: bobo

Dude, at one point, I thought that the world would be perfect if I could read and shower at the same time. Cue me actually trying to build a plexiglass tank that I could squeeze my arms into and turn the page.

Needless to day, my book was destroyed. And I learned the hard way that sometimes multitasking isn't the way to go. ;___;

Oh my god. I thought I was the only one who tried to make a shower-reading machine! I had a music stand and everything, but no plexiglass to go over it, so my project never reached testing stage.

I was going to use plastic forks, with the tines carefully holding each page, so that I could turn pages without getting them wet. :)

I will attest to your supreme multitasking skills, though I myself cannot concentrate on more than one sentence at a time. :|

So in answer I have no fscking idea, but you could always get Syd to hold the book up for you... Heck, with how easy Shastya is to teach, she could do it.

I can knit and read at the same time, as long as the knitting is simple-ish. I see no reason why you can't crochet and read at the same time. The main problems are holding the book open (KINDLE saved my life), and making sure the needle gets in the right place. Practice looking to put the needle in, but looking away to finish the yarn-overs and loops etc.

Crochet to an audio book instead? (That way, you can do both)

I've heard of being able to crochet and read at the same time, but not like, a book. Also yay, Son of the Circus~ But I hope your flu gets better. ;~;

Though I've heard multitasking is really inefficient. That things're usually done faster/better if you just focus on one at a time.

D: That is very true. But I get really bored if I try to focus on one thing at a time, and then nothing gets done. ...granted I don't know if that's better than lots of half-done, half-assed things >>

I suppose a half of something is better than a none of something? My attention span has died the past few years. o_x; But I fail worse at multitasking than just tasking. At least you have multiple half-somethings at a time? :x
