First things first-thank you for writing this. It’s brilliant. And I agree with 99.9 percent of it. (So, naturally, I’m going to talk about the other 0.1 percent.)

After reading some posts labeling Rose Tyler as “a dumb blonde”, a “chavvy dumb blonde shopgirl”, or arguing that Rosefen don’t love Rose as a character and view her only as an appendage to the Doctor, I decided to write this to offer a different viewpoint.

Oh, that’s funny. People think that Rosefen see Rose as an appendage to the Doctor? As opposed to, say, everyone else in this fandom? Pfft.

(If anything, it’s the other way around. I tend to see the Doctor as an appendage of Rose.)

This episode also marks the first time I was really angry at Rose for that ugly fight between her and the Doctor: the one where she flaunts the fact that he’s damaged and how much he means to her and then smirks in triumph when he comes running back to her.I won’t try and defend what Rose said to the Doctor in “Father’s Day.” Their fight was incredibly ugly. Yeah, I stumbled across some comments that said that and I was kind of shocked. I don't ship Rose with people because I don't see Rose as her own character; I ship her because I love her so much. *shrug* And I view Rose the same way as you, lol. As you mentioned in one of your posts, Rose is the hero of S1 to me. =)

I won’t try and defend what Rose said to the Doctor in “Father’s Day.” Their fight was incredibly ugly. But I think I saw her smile outside the church differently than you did. I connected it to the Pete/Jackie fight that we (and Rose) had just witnessed. If I recall correctly, she starts smiling when she sees them kiss and make up. And then she hears the Doctor calling her name, and she grins. She’d thought her mum and dad’s marriage was perfect, and she was wrong. But what I think she

She is definitely real; I loved seeing her different layers and edges. It was so refreshing to see a character on television that reacted the way an ordinary teenage girl would react. Rose Tyler is baller and I can't wait to see her return! <3
