I'm not sure if I mentioned, but we somehow lost Ben's "Little Tiger" (his official name). Truth be told, I think I may have tossed him into the give-away bag accidentally. :( That was a hectic week...Joaquin's lice, painting, almost moving...I feel awful. He's had such a hard time with it ( Read more... )

Owen had a lovie, Milo. He used to chew on his nose instead of sucking on his pacifier! He was getting threadbare and was on his 4th replacement nose so we decided not to take him out of the house anymore. One day he just HAD to have him so he took him out, and apparently left him *somewhere* I had gotten out of the habit of making sure we had him before we left anywhere so I guess I forgot him too. Owen was about 4 at the time. I went to every store, every restaurant and called every person we had visited for the entire YEAR we lived there prior to the loss. No one had it, no one had seen it. He was so beat up and worn out that any non-parent seeing it would have assumed it was trash. I hate to say it, Owen is 12 now, and he will still tear up a little when someone mentions Milo ( ... )

they certainly seem to be!

i've had dreams about his tiger almost nightly. the same as you. one morning i felt the dream was so real i woke up excited....like we HAD found little tiger. only to find it was a dream.

i dreamed that he was in their lego box and we lifted up the lid and we were all sooo happy. i was hoping it was like some dead spirit visiting me in my dreams telling me where little tiger really was. i still hold out hope.

thanks for sharing that story. poor owen. :(

Is there someway you could track the tiger down?

It's too bad that the other kids are like that, but I also think that that's what makes your kids unique and special...

Thank you for this. I sometimes worry too much about my own kid's social well-being. I'm sure it's my own hang-up. I know logically, that he WILL be ok. I mean, hell, look at his anti-social dad! hahah. ;o)

Steve's biological father bought it for him when he was born. We already asked him and he said he bought it at Toys R Us. The boys & I are going to go this afternoon to see if we can find something Ben will like. He has to be the one to choose it. Thanks for your lovin' though. You are awesome.

Aw, that is so sad about little tiger. Neither of my guys ever adopted a lovey although I desperately wanted to them to. Poor Ben. It is hard to grow up.

I worry about my sensitive misfit, too. I am thinking and hoping that it will get better as they get older - but like, COLLEGE older. I never felt comfortable with myself until college. If I can just get them through high school with their psyches intact. :)
