I remember being in Mr. Walsh's AP World History class. Another teacher came in because they got a call from their wife and told him to turn on the TV. We were the first class in the school to find out what happened.
Together we gathered below the TV and watched the towers fall. The room was stunned to silence. Who knew that we'd be watching history happen LIVE?
I remember going to my next class and walking the halls, seeing people still going about normally because most didn't know yet. From there classes stopped, I moved from class to class keeping my eyes on the TV until I got home.
I think that it's an experience I'll never forget.
I remember concerned pen pals asking if I was all right and I had to calmly tell them that I was nowhere near NYC, that it's 7-8 hours away, and had never been there.
