I found you commenting on my journal, and hopped over to yours to check it out. You're a very interesting persons, seemingly sharing my own suspicions about (some) christian politicians like you made clear in this post.
During some reading once I caught up a sentence "Luther brought the church to the state, like Calvin brought it to the money". Despite some of the positive accomplishments of Luther and Calvin, I think this is a serious point.
Maybe church and politics really shouldn't be so closely intertwined. Same of course but even more so with money. Much more so, I start to believe, for the latter makes bad actions in the former much more likely. The bible says love for money is the root of all evil. I guess that is one thing the jerks of this world laugh about. And politicians are often quite clever jerks.
I'll be interested to what else you write on your journal. If you want, you can have me as an lj friend.
God bless,
Daniel

i'm not actually religious - i take on the position sometimes though.
i don't mind religion in politics so much as hypocrisy. must go, more later.

it would be impossible to strain the religion out of politics - it'd be like demanding the convictions be taken out of politics, which of course doesn't make sense/is impossible.
