What would make you want to wear more armor in a Larp (if you're playing a melee type character)? What is most important? Point value, monster calls, comfort, chicks dig it, other?
I'm not really sure if this is what you're looking for, but here's my opinion:
The first question that I ask myself when it comes to armor in larps is, "Is it worth it?" and after that I consider the resources available to me and determine if it is still worth wearing.
Depending on the larp and armor system you may get varied answers. This depends on the amount of points I would get from a suit available to me and if wearing that suit would be beneficial in that game.
I'm not sure if that made much sense to anyone other than me. Good luck though!
I come from a different school of thought. Rules for armor in Chimera are much more involved but you also get some serious benefit for wearing the top end. The benefit is totally the reason to wear it there.
In nero? In nero I wore some light armor on Mortimer from time to time and then stopped. It slowed me down and invariably the monster had a high enough number on those tag line hits that the armor was not stopping me from taking the effect.
I have seen some bad ass looking armor and honestly in nero that is the only really good reason to wear some beyond the low levels. If you can find some that just looks bad ass wear that.

How comfortable is the armor? How much protection is it giving me? Do I need that extra protection?
Most of the time I go without armor.
