Prayer

I struggle with the idea of praying for someone who is down on their luck. When people ask me to pray for them or for someone else, it makes me uncomfortable. What kind of God would save Johnny from cancer because 50 people were praying for him? That implies that He might not save Johnny if only 49 people prayed for him ( Read more... )

You would say something hurtful to someone just because you know you're right. Not always, but if someone were to, for instance, offend your personal sense of justice, you would call them out on something even if you knew it would hurt or upset them. Don't you think? Not always, not usually, but sometimes.

I was being facetious--of COURSE I would! Not sometimes, not usually, but almost always. To know me is to know my tactlessness. That's what I meant when I said I didn't say anything "anyway," meaning despite my normal inclination.

Btw, I like the phrase "personal sense of justice." I want a t-shirt that says that. And gives me super powers.
