You say "any time a person acts knowing that his or her actions very likely will harm another person, or if he or she willfully ignores that likelihood, that person is being unjust."

What if person1, who is trying to harm person2, is doing so in self-defense or to protect someone else?

It depends on who in your scenario is wearing the shield. If person-2 is wearing a JS, his shield will not protect him from person-1 regardless of whether person-1 is acting justly, since the JS will not protect wearers who use it unjustly. If person-1 is wearing a JS, he has no need to defend himself beyond the normal functioning of the shield. If person-1 is defending someone else, he need only step between the victim and person-2 for the shield to protect both of them.

Pretty nifty, eh?
