One of my students came up to me on the playground and said, "Hey, you are really skinny." I didn't know what to say...Am I really? My BMI is hardly even close to underweight. I lamely replied, "You are a lot tinier than me (these are middle school kids)!" to which she quipped, "But I'm a kid, you are a grown woman!"

Indeed...
