Been so busy with work (canvassing) it's ridiculous. Some yuppie called me uneducated and misinformed today because I'm apparently part of a ridiculous percentage of people who recognize global warming as a problem

ahaha! this sounds like my entire day yesterday at pride fest. san franciscos is the biggest in the country - i've never seen shit like that before. people just walking around naked (not half naked or trying to atleast cover themselves) with shoes and socks on just hanging out. lots of male strippers, female strippers, men dressed like female strippers, etc., etc. manladies dressed nicer than me, and just everyone being free and gay. and there was a village people float with beautiful men in ass-less chaps. completely awesome. miss you too corey. p.s. just for your info, greyhound busses to san francisco are only 150 dollars. i believe this is round trip. or if you claim to the city you are "homeless" (no proof really needed), they'll send you home for free. (a feeble attempt to get the bums out of the bay area?) my roommates did this and it worked out well.
actually, did you know being naked in public is legal in san francisco as long as theyre not engaging in lewd behavior? can we do naked yoga when i get there?
i'm reading 'notes from the underground' right now, i think you'd like it. i can bring it when i go out there and we can trade or something. when\where do you wnt to meet up?
i've heard of this book and have been meaning to read it. i don't really have too big of a collection yet (i got robbed by oi! punk! street punx! in philly, haha, long story i'll share once you get here), but there are tons of rad bookstores around here i'm visiting today so maybe i'll have something to trade by then. i really think you would love it if you came up and saw this city, nor-cal is ten times better than LA or anything in southern california. atleast that's what i think. if you take a bus or something i can meet you, i'm not sure how much tickets price but if not you could maybe get a ride up here from craigslist. we'll figure something out, just keep in touch about the exact day you're coming and stuff. i'm so excited!
i'm landing in san diego on august 15th and i'm spending the first day or two there, then i'm not sure whats going on. i have to be back in san diego the night before i go home because my flight is at 6am on the 25th, but aside from that i'm pretty much just travelling about and seeing what i can find. i want to go to mexico on my birthday, i'd love it if you could go with me. i can probably pay your way down there. i like southern california but everyone is so happy all the time i kind of start to hate it after two or three days, i want to go to LA for a day just to see if everything i've heard is true, but i cant see spending any more time there. like i said im travelling alone so if you want to come on any adventures with me you're more than welcome, otherwise i'll give you more specific days when i figure things out.
well, that's a hard question to answer since i don't ever really think about where i get money or where i'm going to get it. it sort of appears, haha. getting out to the west coast from the east coast was easy, we'd often hold up signs at gas stations saying "broke, on a road trip, want to help?" and people would take care of us. i also surround myself with people who don't really care about sharing what they have, people with little concern or care for capitalistic values. we make or find what we need to survive. dumpstering local produce markets, getting leftovers/overstock from cafes or restaraunts. but once i got out here i started to work for non-profit organizations where they pay you for how much money you make for them. a lot of traveller kids or people who want short term jobs do canvassing jobs. it's hard work but i only did it for like, 2 weeks and made 600 hundred dollars. also getting stuff isn't hard. i shop at thrift stores for music, 2 dollar records or hand-me-downs from friends parents. also the barter system is cool
( ... )
p.s. craigslist is awesome when it comes to getting free stuff, too. shared rides, furniture, stuff like that. also bullshit jobs for some quick cash are easy to find on there.
