We decided on the spur of the moment that it was time to go to a museum, and we went to this one: National Museum of the Middle Ages.

I keep trying to write an amusing post about snot.  It's just not going well.  It's not very funny.  C. has caught the whatever-it-is and so we are sneezing and coughing in concert.  3 weeks of this is way too much.  When one imagines oneself in Paris, strolling down the tree-lined boulevards, gazing on the monuments ... one does not imagine that ( Read more... )

C. tells me that 95% of the world-wide consumption of baguettes is in Paris.  Presumably the other 5% go to Parisian expats.  They are the anti-white bread, in a way.  They seem to be designed to maximize crust and minimize the bread part.  Of course like all American children, I used to beg to have the crusts cut off my sandwiches, but fortunately ( Read more... )

So I suppose I have to say something about Parisian fashion....  It's probably too soon to pretend that I understand it.  But I have opinions, oh, my, yes!  The general outlines are these....

I did indeed arrive as planned, only to get hit with ... jet lag! There are some things we just don't believe in until we've had them -- I've always thought jet lag was something that, you know, whiners got.  Ha ha on me; I slept at weird times, couldn't eat, and couldn't make any kind of sense out of anything!  I met C.'s co-workers while in this ( Read more... )
