I have been completely enthralled with something I had no clue even existed before S and I went on a whim to go see Luc Besson's Banlieue 13 last weekend. Banlieue 13 is a film set in the (extreme) ghettos of Paris in 2010 about an undercover cop and ex-thug trying to infiltrate a gang in order to defuse a neutron bomb.

When I was younger I became very much interested in capoeira as it was all the rage in France at the time. I stuck with it roughly 5 years and i can see a lot of the movements in what you posted. There is a great beauty to the fluidity of human movement.

Have you watched nay of the cool Asian films coming out from Tartan Video? Oldboy is a must see. Shinya Tsukamoto is an interesting filmmaker (Vital, A Snake Of June, Tetsuo: The Iron man). Then you have a South Korean sci-fi film which is a homage to Blade Runner, Natural City.

Oooh, thanks for bringing that Besson movie to my
attention! It is now in my queue.

The begining of that Yamasaki video made me think
of West Side Story. It's amazing how much more
graceful the main guys look compared to the trainees.
