Well, the sun decided to pull a fast one on me and my Aryan skin today. I've been switched back to the Auburn Airport dig now that we finished things up in Bethel. Man, working back in Auburn now is like a freaking cakewalk compared to those damned tick and blackfly infested woods. Anyway, yeah, the sun ganed up on me and now I'm on fire.  ( Read more... )

So now they have me working out in Bethel doing what are called test pits. Test pits are part of phase one digging and let me tell you, they suck. We're working by the Androcoggin river digging one meter deep pits that are about 40cmx40cm...minus all the technical crap, that means a damned tough hole to dig. So college is out, and I'm still here on campus. Why in all that is good on this green earth would I stay on campus you might ask?  A damned good job I'd say. I managed to snag a job down at the archaeology center over the summer going to dig sites. Awesome experience, tough work, even tougher weather.
