In the spirit of advice I may have given in the past regarding never taking on a Freelancing gig with a deadline a week before your wedding (although I should note that said book, the Mage Chronicler's Guide, was the most fun I've had on a project), I have the following tidbit for you ( Read more... )

Computers, like children, are GREAT at blowing up at just the wrong time. I mean, it is frightening how good they are at detecting what would give you the most heartache.

That said, glad to hear you'll be at Gencon! Hope to run into you! (I also worked on that Mage product. I can't remember if we actually chatter or not. But hey, anyway.)

Will your hotel room give you a number while you're there? That said, yeah, I know we're looking for playtesters for the game my husband and I are messing around with. If we can, I'll introduce you to anyone I know that you haven't met yet. That sort of thing. (Jess Hartley did that for me last year, she's a saint. I need to pay that forward.) I can't promise a full tour or anything, there's crap I've got scheduled. (Running a game for the Play with a Writer thing and hitting up panels an the like,) but I'm sure I've got time say hello and maybe pick up a game.

Yeah, we should firm up plans. Probably what we'll want to do is figure out where I'm running my game and arrange to meet there are game's conclusion time.

You'd be welcome, too, Philomena. :)

The engines cannae take it.

First, it turned itself off mysteriously on Friday

Did it again on Saturday, but when rebooted "stuttered" in the early stages - the power light flashed on and off and the fans powered up when light was on and down again when off, giving it the curious feel of a police siren.

After we pulled the plug on that and tried again, it won't power up at all.
