 [The audio to the journal turns on and,  albeit a New Feather, the dictation that comes across is clear, if the voice accompanying shaken up. She tries to keep it under wraps, but the slight, shrill sound can be heard during the breaks of her speech.]

Did it actually just turn on--? Odd. [A brief pause to gather her wits before speaking.]

[It's been far too long since he heard that voice. Okay, so maybe not that long, but it's still too long. He scrambles to get the journal open with excitement.]

Hermione! We're both still here!

[She's relieved to hear his voice, but before she lets other questions flood she has to question the last sentence.]

Wait-- still here? What on Earth do you mean?

[Uh oh. This is going to get complicated.]

Hermione, do you remember anything about being in a place called Luceti?

Luceti? [Hermione repeated it carefully, brows furrowing.] I can't say I've ever heard of a place by that name. Why?

...you returned much sooner than anticipated. [It's a casual, if not a bit guarded remark. Knowing Luceti, Hermione won't have any of her memories from the last time. Best to be a bit cautious.]

[It doesn't take much to remember that voice. Even if he hadn't given them away... There's a definite coldness to her tone when she responds.]

[And that tone alone tells him what he needs to know. Damn itttt. There's a slight sigh and he soon adopts a bored tone. Back to playing the role then.]

[Her tone was skeptical although she couldn't help but wonder if he was telling the truth.]

[Hermione found it odd to hear an unfamiliar voice after the first two, but at the very least Ven sounded good-natured. The Guide comment piques her interest.]
