Poor Kenny-- he couldn't possibly keep his father from leaving, and for his wife, wanting a child might have been too strong to keep from destroying the marriage.

The part about the company made me think "Grrrrr," because it's so typical. I seriously want a corporate tax overhaul in the U.S. that penalizes companies for doing that, rather than rewards them.

The insensitivity of bitching over someone counting out pennies when that was all the money he had made me "Grrrr" all over again.

Nice structure and story here, from start to finish.
