Given that it costs more to rent an 0844 non-geo that anything more useful (0870 for example), I'd be suspicious and report this to Trading Standards and to the site hosting the ad.

Further, since data-entry requirements fell through the floor, the increase in rates has been ellow inflation, so I'd be suspicious of any dat-entry job up for more that £10 an hour.

Try emailing back the company, saying that your phone has this number type barred, and would they please provide you with the underlying geographical number to call them back on. Or they can phone you any time.

Today I have received the exact same reply from them. As in, word for word.

Not sure what I think about this to be honest. The company does seem to exist when I've done a few basic searches online - though that offers no guarantees at all.

I think I'll have to call them. I've always been curious. Or nosey.

I've emailed the guy back, basically saying (whilst remaining very polite) that I can't call 0844 numbers from my phone, and that if he could call me back or provide me with a local number to ring, then I'd be most grateful.

We shall see.

Seems highly suspicious to me.

I have just emailed the twat while being remaining very polite (Unwittingly) so here's what i wrote:

Good afternoon Mark,

Having attempted to call the number you specified to me via email this morning, I had been waiting on the phone for over an hour, then i got cut off for some reason.

Would it be possible if you could call me instead? I would very much appreciate it.

My telephone is: ***********.

Many thanks

C********s

I didn't receive an email by the way, so i just thought if i acted like i did then maybe i'd receive a reply. (Lol ASIF)

Will let you know if i so though :)
